Purpose for the Position:  To coordinate, verify, and balance revenues and receipts on a daily basis.  Administer all property level accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.  Completes all other reports as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately enters all daily revenues, receipts and ledger balances into daily report.
  2. Reconciles daily cash deposits and credit card transmissions.
  3. Enters invoices into accounts payable system weekly after verifying a purchase order was received from ordering department head and obtaining General Manager's approval.
  4. Reconciles taxes daily and verifies all tax-exempt backup is on file.
  5. Assists with all Month-End Close requirements as directed by Corporate Accounting
  6. Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Corporate Director - Accounting.
  7. Assist Front Desk as scheduled by Assistant General Manager - greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotel. Verify customers' credit and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.  Issue room keys and escort instructions to Bellmen.
  8. Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process.
  9. Post charges, such those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually, or by using computers.
  10. Transmit and receive messages, using telephones or telephone switchboards.
  11. Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.
  12. Make and confirm reservations.
  13. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.

To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

  • Be an outgoing, welcoming personality for the hotel.
  • Understand and use math concepts.
  • Interpret technical information presented in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Work math problems quickly and accurately.
  • Understand and use computers and related equipment.
  • Speak and write clearly to report financial information.
  • Be available for work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
