Purpose for the Position:  Provide AV technical support for customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Basic set up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems.
  2. Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and sound for events and functions.
  3. Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues and incidents regarding audiovisual systems.
  5. Meet with clients on site to ensure that their needs are met, and the equipment setup is working properly.
  6. Monitor event and checks in on clients throughout the duration of the event. Handle all equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Assist with IT support as needed.
  8. Conduct inventory of equipment.
  9. Test and resolve equipment issues.
  10. Ensure equipment is set up and installed according to designated layout.

To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

  • Set up wireless microphone and audio conference equipment.
  • Experience in setting up audiovisual equipment such as: PA speakers, monitors, wireless microphones, audio conference equipment, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
  • Two (2) years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of audio visual / IT experience or equivalent in educational environment is preferred.

Physical Demands:  Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.  Operate small to large audio mixing boards.

Environmental Conditions:  Inside:  Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.  A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.

Math Skills:  Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
