Purpose for the Position:  Provide assistance and services to guests in order to ensure that their arrival and departure experience is pleasurable and informative.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  1. Be passionate about internal and external guest service and satisfaction.
  2. Proactively determine guest needs and the sharing of information about the property and the area.
  3. Possess good multi-tasking skills and be a detail oriented team player.
  4. Provide valet parking services to safely and efficiently move guest automobiles to a designated parking location.
  5. Open vehicles and hotel doors to assist guests.
  6. Transport and storage of guest luggage, assistance with guest packages.
  7. Use friendly, fun, and professional greetings when addressing guests.
  8. Be fully acquainted with the different points of interest within the surrounding area of the hotel.
  9. Assist, retrieve, and load luggage for guests.
  10. Notify the Front Desk and Concierge of VIP arrivals whenever possible.
  11. Other assigned duties as determined by manager/supervisor.

To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

  • Must want to make people smile.
  • Must have strong communication, presentation, training and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Knowledge of hotel services and the local area events and activities.
  • Ability to converse with guests and fellow associates.
  • Ability to drive all speed shifts of vehicles, van, and automobiles.
  • Excellent driving record as verified by Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Excellent vision required - correctable 20/20 for driving purposes.
  • Be available on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:  Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.  Pushing/pulling cart up to 200 lbs.  Requires driving, walking or standing to a significant degree, reaching, bending, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.

Environmental Conditions:  Both: inside and outside.  A job is considered "Both" if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts approximately 75% or more of the time.

Language Skills:  Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read instructions, safety rules, etc.  Speak with poise, voice control and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice.
