Purpose for the Position:  This position is developmental role that fast tracks individuals towards Area Directors of Sales and/or Regional Sales positions.  The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with assigned Regional Director of Sales and Regional Directors of Operations and report directly to their Regional Director of Sales.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a liaison between the Corporate Office and the hotels in the field by understanding business challenges and priorities.
  2. Achieve hotel sales revenue growth by identifying and developing business opportunities at each hotel, as assigned.
  3. Provide support to the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing by ensuring hotel sales efforts are integrated with hotel marketing efforts.
  4. Provide support to the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing in the integration of hotel sales programs and processes.
  5. Encourage effective communication by developing strong relationships and maintaining open communication with all departments in each hotel, as assigned.
  6. Use motivational skills to instill the RHG sales vision across the assigned portfolio of hotels.
  7. Meet financial objectives by optimizing revenue segment contributions.
  8. Motivate hotel sales teams through sales programs, training, performance objectives, and measurements that create value to the hotel.
  9. Identify target accounts, prospect new business, maintain existing accounts, conduct inside and outside sales calls, sales blitzes, and sales production at properties as assigned.

 To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

  • Must be able to travel frequently: travel/working away from home 5 to 10 days at time (75%).
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Broad based knowledge of sales and revenue automation systems.
  • Proven experience with attracting, retaining, motivating and developing a hotel sales staff.
  • Proven hotel experience providing strategic direction.

Physical Demands:  Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, talking, hearing.
